As an advocate for economic equality and justice, central to my work is the dismantling and eradication of the global wealth gap between whites and ethnic minorities – and in particular that of black women/women of African descent. Historically, within the context of white supremacy and patriarchal systems, marginalized peoples provide free or undercompensated labor to groups and individuals in power through force, violence, and modes of institutional oppression. These embedded practices continue to directly impact global labor relations, are a key driver of women’s poverty in the United States and abroad and must be brought to an end.
